1. Free GP Visits
- We believe that there should be no financial barrier to health thus we hope to remove GP visit fees starting from low decile and rural areas. This will be done by increasing the funding towards those GP clinics.
- We will also increase the number of GP clinics available at rural areas to ensure those living in those areas also have easy access to GP services
2. Improve access to Mental Health Services
- Aotearoa has one of the highest youth suicide rates in the OECD (Suicide statistics, n.d.) thus we believe it is very important for us to bring about neuromas changes in the mental health sector
- Increase and improve mental health support services by funding and creating more public mental health clinics and hiring more staff
- Increase mental health support in schools and universities
- This also links in to our Free GP visit policy as individuals with mental health concerns will be able to freely visit doctors to discuss options and get referrals to specialists
- Ensure the cost of diagnosis of mental health conditions is subsidised
3. Parental leave
- Increase number of paternity leave days to help parents bond with their children
- Ensure parents have access to parental leave no matter their work contract type.
