Terence Zhang was born in Auckland, New Zealand, to parents of Chinese background and grew up both in New Zealand and in China. He attended the University of Auckland, eventually graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and continuing his postgraduate studies to earn a Master of Laws specialising in International Law.
Before entering politics, Terence worked for New Zealand and international tech companies and law firms. His experience working with these international companies has greatly influenced his knowledge of international relations. Therefore the Pine Party has decided that Terence would be the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
As the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Terence believes that despite New Zealand being in the corner of the world, it must play an essential part in achieving global sustainable development. With his education and prior experience, he believes he can make this happen.
